E-WING FIGHTER

There's very little reference material available for this vehicle, so this (so far) is the only Star Wars model I've built that's based on somebody else's instructions. Some alterations were made but, for the most part, the credit for this model belongs to Malastarian Madness. One of his little touches that bears mentioning is the adjustable pilot seat. I was impressed enough with this to repeat it in the model of the Jedi Starfighter.

The reason the E-Wing has been resigned to the dustbin of history is its astonishing unreliability, which is why the pilot has been pictured here with a suitably robust repair tool. I have it on good authority that the Rebel Technicians share their maintenance philosophy with the ground crew at Qantas, put simply as: "If it doesn't work, you need a bigger hammer".
